Produced by award winning young filmmaker, Mike Buonaiuto, the short film shows British forces returning home to greet their loved ones, with the reunion of one soldier and his partner soon turning into a surprise marriage proposal. The film looks to tackle the opposition head on, arguing if all have the right to serve in British military regardless of sexuality, then all should be able celebrate their love and commitment with civil marriage, free from discrimination.
What is The Food Chain all about?
• Through a network of skilled and dedicated volunteers, The Food Chain changes lives by ensuring people living with HIV have access to a tailored nutrition service which will provide them with a nourished diet aimed to maintain wellbeing.
• The Food Chain helps improve the lives of people living with HIV by providing services including hot meal deliveries, grocery box deliveries, cookery classes and communal eating.
• In 2012 The Food Chain delivered it’s half a millionth meal since starting in 1988.
• In 2011, over 700 volunteers helped to prepare and deliver meals supporting 418 people.
Let’s talk figures:
The number of people with HIV in London has nearly doubled in the past decade!
According to 2010 figures; there were an estimated 39,100 (43%) of those diagnosed living in the capital:
• The rate of people infected with HIV in London is over three times higher than any other region in England
• A third of people with HIV in the capital are unaware they are infected
• Almost 50% of HIV infections acquired in the UK in 2010 occurred heterosexually
• HIV infection can lead to malnutrition which as a result can speed the infection’s progress
As daunting as these facts and figures may be, on Friday the 30th of March we can all take a small step to help support a truly worthwhile cause – The Food Chain are launching their annual Spring Office Picnic to raise money for people living with HIV.
The idea is that a number of offices around London participate in the picnic, whereby each person donates £3.60 and brings in a dish from home to share with their office colleagues. With the good weather set to continue tomorrow, why not gather up your work mates and head to a local green space in support of raising awareness for people living in the capital with the disease, as currently nearly 40,000 of those with HIV live in London.
We’re challenging as many of our readers as possible to skip your morning coffee and pastry, lunchtime pint or protein shake at the gym tomorrow and to rather donate the cash you would have spent to The Food Chain.
To register visit http://springofficepicnic.co.uk/. After registration you will receive a pack which will give you further information on The Food Chain and the picnic.

Living a fast-paced, sleep-deprived and stressful lifestyle is something a lot of us just take in our stride and accept as the norm as our lives progress. These factors can leave you looking and feeling fatigued and your skin is often the first place that these symptoms manifest themselves. The eyes are the window to the soul and lack of sleep as well as living life in excess can result in dark circles, bags, fine lines and wrinkles. It’s reassuring to know that this evidence can be reduced, and even eliminated, with the correct course of action/treatment.
Bulldog Natural Skincare has produced an original eye roll-on developed to specifically target the delicate area around the eyes to help reduce these symptoms. Packed with completely natural ingredients including avocado oil, cucumber oil and Brazilian ginseng extract, the formula gently works to revive, hydrate and protect the area around the eye. The roll-on applicator also gently soothes the area during application, a welcome relief for morning-after-the-night-before eyes. After a few uses the results are clearly visible!
As a pioneer of natural skincare for men, all Bulldog products are body friendly and don’t contain controversial chemicals such as parabens, sodium laureth sulphate, artificial colours, or synthetic fragrances. Instead, Bulldog products are loaded with essential oils and other amazing natural actives to deliver superb skincare results.
Bulldog Original Eye Roll-On is made in the UK and comes in a 15ml tube.
