Beige Recommends: KLARR’s PowderRoom at Dalston Superstore

Later this month Dalston Superstore will present local illustrator and artist KLARR’s debut exhibition – PowderRoom.

KLARR's PowderRoom

PowderRoom explores different representations of masculinity through print and neon light works. The exhibition takes the form of an expanded colouring book, which KLARR uses as an allegorical tool to represent the transformative process of makeup. His images blend traditional notions of gender to create candid portraits of men.

KLARR's PowderRoom

His boys are hot, feminine, butch, fishy, powerful and free, all at the same time.

KLARR's PowderRoom

Everyone is cordially invited to the opening on 22 August 2013 where DJ’s Max Allen, Daniel Stevie Nicks Sallstrom and George Henry Longly will be on the decks for your audio pleasure.

The exhibition has been lovingly curated by Saskia Wickins and will run for six weeks.

Entry is free.
