Gay Pride Spotlight: Reykjavik
Reykjavik’s Gay Pride, now in its 14th year, welcomes over 85,000 visitors every year as the city comes alive with theatre and comedy shows in the Harpa Concert Hall, outdoor ‘rainbow’ family festivals, fantastic nightlife, live music, a Pride Dance and the grand finale – the Gay Pride Parade, for which three quarters of the capital cities population flocks to the streets to support.
This August, visitors can enjoy the Gay Pride festivities in Reykjavik from 8 – 11 August and while you’re there we highly recommend that you stay at the funky Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina. Its close proximity to the city centre and the heart of the Gay Pride action makes it the ideal base from which to explore all that Reykjavik and its surroundings has to offer.
Three nights at Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina in an Attic Room costs from £355 per person based on a two people sharing a double room basis, including breakfast. For more information visit icelandairhotels.com.
Flights from Heathrow to Reykjavik cost from £177 per person one way departing in August. For more information or to book visit www.icelandair.co.uk.
