We’re Celebrating With Cosmetics à La Carte!
Cult beauty brand Cosmetics à La Carte are celebrating their 40th year anniversary this week with a five day exhibition titled ‘Colour and Culture’.
The exhibition, curated by Ryan Lanji, explores the brands history of cosmetic innovation, creativity and cultural significance.
Since the brand was established the products have graced the covers of Vogue, Marie Claire and Elle, to name just a few and celebrity and high profile fans include Grace Jones, Debbie Harry, Ana Matronic, Lady Gaga and the late Princess Diana.
At Beige we are aware that most exciting thing about make-up is getting to play with it! Rather than tell you all about how fabulous the Cosmetics à La Carte product are, we thought it would be interesting to invite some guests into our studio to express their creativity using their favourite items. We have captured each guest on camera, giving insight into how they create their bold signature looks.
To coincide with the Colour and Culture exhibition, which takes place Wednesday through Sunday, we will run a video online each day.
Kicking off today, Daniel Lismore raises awareness for climate change by demonstrating how to create the powerful ‘Vivienne Westwood Climate Revolution Face of War’.
On Thursday 23 May, renowned make-up artist to the stars, Christine Bateman, gives Beige readers a tutorial on how to achieve an understated yet polished look.
Friday 24 May the gorgeous Miss Sahhara shares her tips on how to get the perfect ‘glamorous eye’ for a night out.
Christine Bateman demonstrates a ‘glam rock’ look with a modern twist on Saturday 25 May.
Finally, on Sunday 26 May, Holestar shows how to get the perfect drag look.
The Colour and Culture exhibition takes place at The Gallery on Redchurch Street from 22 through to 26 May.
