Beige recommends: Dickie Beau at Forest Fringe

One of London’s most innovative drag performance artist, Dickie Beau, is curating the Forest Fringe festival at Notting Hill’s Gate theatre for the rest of this week.

Dickie was interviewed by Beige about his one-man show Blackouts: Twilights of The Idols last month and will perform at The Gate this Friday and Saturday, alongside the artists Tom Marshman, Helen Noir and Nando Messas.

This week he has already curated performances by Shit Theatre and The Famous Lauren Barri Holstein.

On Wednesday performer Foxy took to the stage with a deeply poignant, mimed exploration of the many facets of love, desire and isolation.

On nights when he is not billed as performing, Dickie will host talks, comversations with other artists, show films and occasionally put in a surprise turn. It’s all about expecting the unexpected and there’s still time to catch this festival of some of the best performance art on the London circuit.
