Beige recommends: Campfire presents – Peter Tatchell, human rights campaigner
Legendary human rights campaigner, Peter Tatchell, will be telling his personal story on Thursday 18 April as part of Campfire, a free monthly, not for profit event.
Tatchell will explain how he came to dedicate himself to being an active campaigner for human rights and the LGBT community in particular, and the importance of making a stand for what you believe is right.
Co-founder of the world’s longest surviving LGBT human rights direct action movement, Outrage! Tatchell is also director of the Peter Tatchell Foundation, promoting global awareness, understanding, protection and implementation of human rights. He is also the Green Party’s spokesperson on human rights.
Previous speakers at Campfire events have included everyone from david Rowan, Editor of Wired magazine, to Ruth Mackenzie, Director of the Cultural Olympiad 2012, by way of legendary DJ Greg Wilson.
