Burberry Set For London Collections: Men
Burberry has announced it will present its June 2013 show at part of London Collections: Men. Designed by Christopher Bailey, the menswear line has previously been a key fixture at Milan’s men’s fashion week for more than a decade. Due to the huge success of LC: M, Burberry will now be joining brands including Alexander McQueen and Tom Ford by moving its menswear collection to London men’s fashion week.
The move also fits into the brand’s strategy of highlighting its Britishness – previously using black cabs in adverts and rain on the catwalk.
“London is the creative heart of Burberry and our global headquarters. The country’s proud menswear heritage and outstanding contemporary talent give it a unique and powerful energy,” explained Christopher Bailey. “It is a wonderful time to be bringing our menswear show home.”
Burberry has supported LC:M since its first showcase in June 2012, hosting events to promote menswear in its Knightsbridge store. The luxury men’s line was the fastest growing category in the brand’s first half of 2012-13.
Burberry will present its spring 2014 men’s show on June 18 – the final day of London Collections: Men.
